Honoring the Important Role Families Play

Children will create family-themed artwork and participate in classroom discussions celebrating
the love, care, and support families provide.

June 1 — World Dinosaur Day

Exploring the World of Dinosaurs Through Play & Discovery

Children will investigate fossils, dinosaurs, volcanoes, sensory bins, dramatic play, and STEMbased activities.

June 1–30 — Summer Safety Awareness Month

Learning How to Stay Safe During Summer Fun

Children will explore age-appropriate safety topics including sunscreen, hydration, playground
safety, water safety, and fire safety.

June 5 — World Environment Day

Caring for Our Planet Together

Children will participate in gardening, recycling projects, nature walks, and environmental art
experiences.

June 6 — Butterfly Education & Awareness Day

Discovering Butterflies & Life Cycles

Classrooms will explore caterpillars, butterflies, pollinators, and nature through sensory play,
books, and science investigations.

June 7 — World Food Safety Day

Healthy Habits & Safe Food Practices

Children will learn about handwashing, healthy eating, and food safety through pretend play and interactive discussions.

June 8 — World Oceans Day

Exploring Oceans & Marine Life

Students will engage in ocean-themed sensory activities, water play, marine animal exploration, and conservation discussions.

June 8–14 — Infant Mental Health Awareness Week

Supporting Emotional Growth from the Very Beginning

Teachers will focus on responsive caregiving, emotional connection, comfort, and nurturing classroom relationships.

June 10 — Thank a First Responder Day

Celebrating Community Helpers

Children will learn about firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other helpers through dramatic play and classroom activities.

Children will enjoy open-ended play experiences, obstacle courses, outdoor exploration, and imaginative activities.

Celebrating Healthy Families & Caregivers

Activities may include movement games, outdoor activities, and recognition of fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and caregivers.

Discovering Beauty in Nature

Children will observe leaves, flowers, insects, clouds, and outdoor spaces through photos, drawings, and nature journals.
